Young Romeo just doesn't know when to stop complaining. He claims that he has a dream that is trying to guide him to stay away from this dance, but I just had to tell him about Queen Mab. It was as if he has been with her recently. Queen Mab may seem like a fairy, but she is much worse than that. All she does is curse people with parasites and nasty insects in people's dreams. Worms will crawl out of your fingers or you will be buried in insect parts such as the legs of spiders or wings of grasshoppers. She can make someone dream of murder or drive over soldiers or make women seem disgusting or disgraceful. Dreams. Romeo talks about dreams. Just wait until he sees her in his dreams and his love talk will fade.
After a while Romeo is still complaining and I have no idea on what to do now. Romeo is being dragged down by love. I tell him that if love is playing rough with him, then he should play rough back. He is sinking in the sorrow of sadness. Cupid has injured this boy and I tell him to beat love down. He deserves better than to suffer in this pain he feels with love. We are here for him and we will always be here for him. I hope he understands that. Romeo just keeps on wasting our time by clouding our sky. We would already be at the ball by now if it weren't for him.
Benvolio, Romeo, and I all gathered to attend the dance thrown by the Montagues. We all carried masks because the party was a masquerade and before we got there, Romeo began complaining on how we should not even be attending or arriving in the first place. He felt the need to bring up his lovey-dovey attitude and his sensitive side by trying to explain what he had in a dream. His sorrow was so overwhelming that I needed to kick some sense into his mind. He would say, "I have a soul of lead so stakes me to the ground I cannot move."(1:4:17) Honestly, this boy needs to let go of love and just live life.
